A 16-year-old boy from Balham has appeared in court charged with murder after a teenager was stabbed to death at East Croydon station.
The teenager appeared at Highbury Corner Magistrates' Court accused of killing Louis Johnson, also 16, who was attacked on Monday afternoon.
The youngster was stabbed after entering the station and using the Ruskin Square ticket barrier shortly after 4.30pm.
British Transport Police officers were called to the station at 4.45pm. Mr Johnson was pronounced dead at the scene.
The defendant, who cannot be named, was ordered to next appear in custody at the Old Bailey on Monday.
