A trespasser on the tracks is causing delays through Croydon this evening

The trespass incident on the railway happened place between Selhurst/Norwood Junction and West Croydon but has now been resolved.

National Rail advised that whilst services recover, trains between the stations may still be cancelled, delayed or diverted.

The disruption is expected until 8.30pm.

"At this time please continue to travel as normal, but do allow some extra time to complete your journey," a National Rail message said.

"Some services have been altered to avoid the area, and staff are now working hard to restore services to the published timetable.

"If possible, please check journey planners prior to departure.

"You may wish to use the following ticket acceptance to complete your journey:

  • London Buses between London, Croydon and Sutton
  • Tramlink between Croydon and Mitcham Junction
  • Alternative Southern and Thameslink services

"We'd like to remind all that trespassing is highly dangerous and illegal. Please remember to stay safe whilst travelling on the railway network."
