A fire burnt out a house on Caxton Avenue in Addlestone on Monday (January 20) with emergency service teams still in attendance into Tuesday afternoon.

Crews from Surrey Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS), Surrey Police and South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb) all attended the blaze.

As the fire crews worked to bring the fire under control and monitor ongoing "hotspots" in its aftermath, police officers set up a cordon in the immediate area.

An investigation into the blaze is already underway.

"The fire and rescue service remain in attendance at Caxton Avenue, Addlestone.

"Fire investigations are ongoing," an SFRS spokesperson said.

Officers from Runnymede Beat were among those who attended the fire from Surrey Police.

"A cordon remains in place this morning whilst we support @SurreyFRS investigators and the power company at the scene of a fire on Caxton Avenue #RowTown" a spokesperson for the area police team said on Twitter.

The fire is believed to have broken out around 4pm on Monday, its cause still unconfirmed.
