WE WERE left with so many great memories from our family holiday at Pra Delle Torri.

It had everything we wanted, a day trip to Venice, golden sandy beaches with glorious sunshine, swimming pools with slides to keep the children happy for hours, as well as amazing entertainment and food.

Eurocamp has so many great places to choose from across Europe and we wanted to try one a little further south. We thought it would be hot (it was) and we wanted to try a place in Italy. Pra Delle Torri is close to Venice, which was bound to be memorable.

It was a quick and simple flight from Gatwick and a direct bus from the airport for a few Euros each.

Pra Delle Torri is big and spacious. I spotted the football pitch straight away, but for many it was the huge golf course that caught the eye.

The children wanted to go swimming as soon as possible and this is probably where Pra Delle Torri is particularly impressive, as you can see from the picture.

There are five pools, four all near each other and then another tucked away, close to our holiday home.

There was a jacuzzi, slides, an Olympic type pool and a children’s shallow area complete with a pirate ship with water splashing down, keeping them cool.

You could book your own sun lounger or sit on the grassy areas, which had some nice shady spots.

I loved the way the beach was literally on the other side of the hedge so that you could pop over to where the Adriatic was warmer than the pools. It was great for snorkelling, with miles of sand stretching in both directions.

Next to the pools there is a huge gym inside a marquee. Then there is a full programme of water zumba, beach zumba, all sorts to keep you fit, helping to make room for the great Italian food available on site or at the beachside restaurants.

My favourite meal was spaghetti with clams at the beach. Very reasonable prices too.

And our mobile home had a lovely covered outside decking area where we ate some of our meals, having picked up great produce from the on site supermarket.

The entertainment team were very talented, putting on various shows, including one inspired by the film Avatar, with amazing choreography. At night there was also live music at the beach, lovely while the sun went down.

The holiday village even had its own skate park and we hired one of those four seater bikes to cycle around on.

There is a beautiful port town called Caorle a 20-minute bus trip away, with more lovely beaches, shops and restaurants and a scenic harbour area.

For Venice we booked a boat trip, which had its own bar and was an outstanding day. First stop was the picture postcard island of Burano, a mini Venice, if you like, with canals running through the island.

I stopped to pick up refreshments at a delicatessen, getting a snapshot of local life as a little girl came in to say “Ciao Nonna”. They had those huge ham carving machines and cheeses.

What a great place to pop round and see your nan.

Next stop was Murano, famous for its glass making, where we saw a demonstration and picked up a couple of beautiful pieces.

Venice itself is simply jaw-droppingly beautiful. Arriving by boat seemed the perfect way and we walked around the little lanes and along the canals in wonder, taking in St Mark’s Square and strolling across the Rialto Bridge.

We headed back for a couple more days, enjoying a relaxing and yet fun-packed and exciting time that I would recommend to anyone.
