Bexley's annual literary festival is due to return next month for the third year.

The two-week-long program will deliver a selection of workshops, talks, and shows to adults and children across locations in Bexleyheath.

The popular event will take place from February 15-29.

This year’s festival will consist of a 50-page long program aiming to entertain, teach and practice drama, craft and storytelling skills.

Attractions include a Horrible Science Show, from best-selling writer, Nick Arnold, a comic illustration workshop by comic strip creator, Kev Sutherland.

And an interactive code-breaking session with Bletchley Park’s, Tom Briggs.

Bletchley Park was once the top-secret home of the World War Two Codebreakers.

Councillor Peter Craske said: “Bexley’s Book Buzz festival is going from strength to strength and I am thrilled that we can present our third festival, a two-week program packed full of events and activities for all.

“It is great to be providing a fabulous fortnight of events and activities all around the borough- I am sure it won’t disappoint.”

This year’s writer in residence will be writer and performer, Bernadette Russell.

Bernadette writes fiction and non-fiction for both adults and children, as well as scripts for live performance.

Bernadette will be holding an interactive activity and story session for children called the Wishing Tree and a creative writing afternoon workshop for Bexley’s budding authors.

Children can also expect drama and painting workshops, comedy poetry shows and an Astrodome.

The literature festival will include some highly acclaimed authors such as Ben Aaronovitch, Elaine Everest and Elly Griffiths.

Most tickets are free however, need to be booked in advance.
