A teenager died yesterday evening after being hit by a train on the Southern line between Sutton and Epsom Downs.
Officers from British Transport Police were called at 4.46pm on January 5 to the railway close to Banstead following a report of a "casualty on the tracks."
"Paramedics also attended however a man in his teens was sadly pronounced dead at the scene," a BTP spokesman said.
"His family have been informed. This incident is not currently being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
