A man has been sentenced after assaulting a woman he knew in Hampton Wick near Kingston Bridge earlier this year.
22-Year-old Shane Durrant of Keywood Drive in Sunbury-on-Thames was handed an 18-month community order and a five-year restraining order at Kingston Crown Court on December 16.
Officers were called to Hampton Court Road at 4:20am on September 28, by colleagues from the London Ambulance Service who were treating the victim.
Officers quickly established that the victim - reportedly in her early twenties, was assaulted by Durrant in Hampton Court Road near to Kingston Bridge.
PC James Driver, from the South West Command Unit said: "This was an unprovoked attack on a young woman as she made her way home after a night out.
"Durrant had no option but to plead guilty and is now facing the consequences for his actions."
