A born and bred Sutton woman has celebrated her 100th birthday.

Born on November 29, 1919, Tina Osborne was overjoyed with her very special centenary birthday card from the Queen.

The fun-filled 100th birthday celebrations took place at Orford House, the Coulsdon based care home run by charity Friends of the Elderly.

Tina’s daughter Angela said: “I am so thankful to the staff for making my mum’s day extra special and all the effort that they went to decorate her room with bunting and a beautiful birthday cake. Orford House really feels like an extended part of our family.”

The care home’s team arranged for a special cake and decorated her room, much to Tina’s joy.

After growing up in the same village together, Tina married Alfred Osborn.

Alfred fought in WWII and together they had their daughter Angela.

Tina worked for British telecommunications and engineering company Marconi and has various hobbies that include knitting, gardening and dancing, as well as being a talented artist and even having her own artwork hanging in her room.
