THE company redeveloping Conditioning House in the centre of Bradford has commented after a worker was injured on the site this morning.
The man was trapped in a lift shaft in the five-storey building at about 8.30am today.
He received facial injuries and was taken to Leeds General Infirmary by ambulance. His injuries were said by police to be non life-threatening.
The former wool testing facility, which once processed 70% of all wool produced in the UK, is currently being redeveloped by the Priestley Group into 150 apartments, offices and commercial space.
Rob Pell, head of construction at Priestley Construction, said: “There was an incident at our Conditioning House site in Bradford on Thursday 5 December involving a member of the site team.
“We can confirm that a subcontractor has been injured and was taken to hospital by the emergency services.
“We are working closely with all involved to ascertain what has happened and can provide further comment once we know more.”
