Residents are being invited to submit their entries for the 'Reimagine Croydon's Subways' competition to reinvent the borough's pedestrian tunnels.

Designs can be submitted until January 10, and proposals can be for any or all of the six subways located around Croydon town centre.

Councillor Paul Scott, cabinet member for environment, transport and regeneration said: "This competition provides a fantastic opportunity to to transform these unattractive underpasses from a time gone by into dynamic, quirky public places that people want to use.

“This is a great opportunity for Croydon’s creative minds to let their imaginations run wild and help us re-purpose these unloved tunnels. I look forward to seeing a wide range of interesting ideas and concepts!"

Shortlisted ideas will be made available for the public to comment on from January 31 until February 16, and a judging panel will decided who the winners are on February 27.
