One person was arrested for affray in Croydon town centre on Friday evening (November 29).
Scenes from the incident showed a large police presence on George Street in the centre of Croydon on Friday evening, with a large number of police officers and vehicles attending.
Unconfirmed reports attributed the chaotic scenes to "rioting".
A Met Police spokesperson told the Croydon Guardian that one person had been arrested at the scene and attributed the incident to youths 'causing a nuisance'.
The spokesperson described the incident as "a group of youths running up and down the street causing a nuisance".
They added there had been "one arrest for affray" and that a dispersal order had been put in place in the area.
