Leeds United goalkeeper Kiko Casilla has been granted an extension from the FA to respond to allegations of racism.
The Spanish shot stopper was expected to respond to the charge on Tuesday for the allegation which was said to have occurred when his side met Charlton at The Valley on September 28.
The FA however have now given the keeper and the Championship outfit until the end of November to respond.
Casilla strongly denies the charge and insists he did not use language of a racist nature towards Charlton player Jonathan Leko.
The FA issued a charge of 'breach of FA Rule E3,' on November 4.
The charge read:
“It is alleged that, contrary to Rule E3(1), the Leeds United goalkeeper used abusive and/or insulting words towards a Charlton Athletic player during an EFL Championship fixture on 28 September 2019.
“It is further alleged that the words constitute an “Aggravated Breach”, which is defined in Rule E3(2), as they made reference to race and/or colour and/or ethnic origin.”
If found guilty the goalkeeper will serve an eight to twelve game ban.
