Crystal Palace chief Neil Warnock does not expect to make anymore new acquisitions before the weekend after the deal to bring Clint Hill to Selhurst Park broke down.
Stoke defender Hill was expected to complete a loan move to SE25 before the end of the week to fill the void left by Leon Cort who has gone in the opposite direction.
But it is understood that the move to bring the 29-year-old centre-back to south London has broken down after talks with the Eagles yesterday.
And Warnock says he is unlikely to bring anyone in before Saturday's tough trip to Scunthorpe.
"It doesn't look as if anyone will be coming in, said Warnock.
"I've been talking to a couple of clubs about loans - but at the minute it may be a week before I can get anyone else."
