An event is being held on November 8 to encourage the borough's black community to open their homes to homeless teenagers.
The south London YMCA's Community Hosts scheme aims to give young people a better place to live, rather than hostels or bed and breakfast accommodation.
The YMCA and Lambeth Council want the black community in Lambeth to become community hosts who will provide a room in their homes for black teenagers at risk of homelessness.
The community hosts will be trained to provide practical support and accommodation to a young person in their home. They will receive payment for letting their room.
Anyone interested in becoming a host needs to have a spare room, an interest in helping a young person to achieve and should live in Lambeth.
Adults interested in the scheme can attend the open evening on November 8 from 6pm to 9pm at King George House, 40 Stockwell Road, Stockwell.
