Over the course of two days, Wimbledon Common and Richmond Park was transformed into a kaleidoscope of colour for a good cause.
The group of riders from the Wimbledon Village Stables made their way around the ten mile route on October 20 and 22.
The colourful procession bought pleasure and amusement to startled onlookers.
Mayor of Merton, Councillor Janice Howard and ‘Judge’ John White had the difficult job of picking the best fancy dress and after much deliberation the winning rosettes were awarded to Daniella Taylor, a glorious pink fairy, riding the decorated Jasper and wicked witch Deborah Collins on Hudson.
£16,000 was raised in total.
Included in the sum was a donation to the Wimbledon and Putney Commons Conservators with The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity being the main beneficiary of the ride.
