Two curry houses from Esher and Epsom are in the running to be named among the best in the region this weekend.
The Jolshiri Restaurant in Esher and the Stoneleigh Brasserie in Epsom were both named as finalists in the upcoming Asian Restaurant & Takeaway Awards (ARTA) taking place this Sunday (October 13).
The restaurants were both nominated in the Surrey category of the awards, which seek to promote the contribution of Britain's multi-billion pound curry industry.
"ARTA solely focuses on awarding the Asian restaurant industry, from chefs to small eateries, food cart owners to 5-star curry houses," a spokesperson said.
The awardees are finalised based on survey data from ARTA partners ChefOnline, who surveyed over 350,000 customers to ask them are about their South Asian cuisine preferences in their region.
The red-carpet event is taking place at the Westminster Park Plaza, and will be hosted by BBC News presenter Samantha Simmonds and comedian/magician Paul Martin.
