Her Royal Majesty will be coming down to Morden this week for the opening of a new housing development.

But these aren't any old flats. This particular project by Haig Housing will proved 68 "much needed" new homes for veterans on its existing headquarters estate.

And to mark the occasion, the Queen will even make a special visit on October 11.

"Her Majesty the Queen Patron, will open the Centenary Development at Haig Housing Trust, Alban Dobson House, Green Lane, Morden, Surrey, in the London Borough of Merton," a notice in the Royal Family's 'future engagements' section read.

Haig Housing made sure to let the public now as well.

"We are proud to announce the official opening of The Centenary Development in South London by Her Majesty The Queen will take place on Fri October 11," a message on Twitter read.

The development includes a mix of one to four-bedroomed homes in several blocks and terraces. Seven of the one and two bedroomed homes come pre-adapted for wheelchair users with additional external mobility scooter storage.

It is understood the Queen will be arriving shortly after 11am.
