Walton Casuals boss Luke Dowling is hoping that new signings Craig Bradshaw, Bryron Brown, Jean-Serge Musunga and Rob Paris can lift his struggling team away from the relegation zone.

The arrival of former Portsmouth and Dorchester Town goalkeeper Bradshaw from Cove will probably result in Nick Jupp going out on loan and has left a question mark over the future of the club's other keeper Paul Smith.

Bradshaw, left-back Brown from Met Police and midfielder Musunga from Fisher Athletic made their debuts in last Friday's 4-0 defeat away to leaders Tooting & Mitcham, but Dowling reckons none of his players did themselves justice. Centre-half Paris, signed on loan from Hampton & Richmond, can also help to trigger off a revival.

Dowling said: "The players I have brought in can strengthen the side and help us climb the table after slipping to third-from-bottom.

"Nobody came out of the Tooting game with any credit, with the possible exception of Bradshaw. It's the first time this season that all 10 outfield players didn't perform and I don't expect it to happen again."

Jon Henry-Hayden ripped the Casuals defence apart, scoring in the first four minutes of each half and then setting up two more goals for Jamie Byatt.

The previous Tuesday Casuals had battled back from 1-0 down at the interval to beat Ware 2-1 at home in the League Cup, with substitute Chis Kiganda scoring soon after coming on in the 69th minute and then grabbing a 90th minute winner.

Smith, who played in goal against Ware as Jupp was turning out for his parent club Fulham in a reserve match, was upset to be replaced by Bradshaw against Tooting. But Dowling revealed: "Bradshaw is now my No. 1 keeper - he comes highly recommended by former Chelsea player Gareth Hall, the assistant manager at Yeading, and while at Portsmouth he was on the bench for the first team.

"Jupp, who joined us four weeks ago on a dual registration from Fulham, is only 19 and we need a more experienced keeper. He may now go on loan."

Walton, who were at home to Chipstead on Tuesday, face two difficult away league matches at Dulwich Hamlet this Saturday and at Worthing next Tuesday.
