Franck Songo'o has signed for Crystal Palace on a month-long loan deal from Premiership side Portsmouth.
Songo'o, 20, goes straight into the squad to face Watford tonight - as do highy-rated youngsters John Bostock, 15, Lee Mills, 17, and Moses Swaibu, 18.
Swaibu has already made a handful of pre-season appearances for the Eagles, while new boss Neil Warnock has already spoken of his admiration for left-back Hills.
But it is his inclusion of teenage starlet John Bostock that will capture the imagination of Palace supporters.
The Eagles academy player is highy-rated at Selhurst Park, with the talented midfielder understood to have been courted by Chelsea, Liverpool and Barcelona.
Should Bostock play any part in tonight's London derby he will become the youngest ever player to make a league appearance for the Eagles, eclipsing Phil Hoadley who made his Eagles league debut as a 16-year-old against Bolton in April 1968.
