Trust for London charity and Crowdfunder will be joining forces to tackle poverty in Richmond by asking community groups for crowdfunding ideas.

The ‘Make Change Happen’ campaign has set aside £150,000 aside to help tackle poverty.

Up to £10,000 is on offer to community groups that can find ways to achieve the campaign's objective.

Community groups must submit their ideas on the Crowdfunder website in just 100 words before October 18, this will also help to get any ideas to go live before Christmas.

Jason Nuttall, Programme Director from Crowdfunder said: “Through working with Trust for London on this innovative project we’re supporting those with great ideas which improve life for people in the city.

"At Crowdfunder we see amazing ideas which bring positive change to people’s lives become a reality every day, we’re looking forward to see what ideas Londoners have.”

The charity and Crowdfunder estimate that around 27 per cent of Londoners are experiencing poverty, 20 per cent work in jobs which are paying below the living wage and 37 per cent of children are living below the poverty line.
