Millwall fell to their first home defeat of the season on Saturday after a Nahki Wells brace gave city rivals QPR a 2-1 win.
Early season promise and an air of excitement around The Den has long been forgotten and the reality of another season in a Championship dogfight beckons unless something changes.
Bartosz Bialkowksi’s error in the 72nd minute after Shaun Hutchinson brought parity moments earlier proved crucial, and extended the Lions winless run to six games.
Lions boss Neil Harris has always maintained he would never get carried away with the positive early season results, likewise in defeat.
But the manner of the defeat, their third in five games, has started rumblings of #Harrisout trend.

Harris will be no stranger to pressure having come under scrutiny at the back end of last season before they avoided relegation, but at such an early stage in the season this campaign, the concerns seem different.
Millwall fans, sensing a case of deja-vu voiced their opinions following defeat to Mark Warburton’s side, with many taking aim at the club legend for their poor run of form.
Fair enough people are going to say to me you were sticking up for him the other week but I think Harris should do the decent thing and leave he’s taken us as far as he can he won’t leave of course he won’t but trust me it would be the right thing to do #Millwall

Okay I think maybe now it’s time to go Harris, as much as that pains me to say, fresh new ideas and a different voice needed I think! #Millwall

Never been Harris out. But his inexperience is starting to show. He had a set way of playing for 3 seasons and it worked. Blinding to see. But now he knows he’s been sniffed out he can’t change it cause he hasn’t got another way of playing that works. Got to go. #millwall

If Huddersfield turn us over then Harris needs to go, simple as. #Millwall

If harris is as millwall as his dwindling number of fans believe then he would do the decent thing and quit tonight, times up, absolutely fucking clueless, we have absolutely nothing about us, shambles #millwall

Gonna sign of the rant like this I bet that Harris has until the international break (3 games) to get a certain amount of points if not he has to go 100% #millwall

It’s my choice to live in Dorset and travel to games but fuck me as a Level 1 coach I’ve got more idea than Harris and Livers. As a player Harris was my hero Livers was pony. They’ve worked hard but taken us as far as they can. Please go #Millwall

At the age of 30 Neil Harris has been my hero throughout most of my life. As painful as it is he simply isn’t up to the challenge of being a championship manager and needs to go before we go down #millwall

We have some quality players in the club, Harris has no idea how to get the best out of them. It was painful to watch at times today, the QPR defenders had Smith's number but we still tried the same ball time and time again. Time to go Harris, before we are in trouble. #millwall
— Terry S (@TerryS1977) September 21, 2019
Harris done a lot for the club but now time to go. Tactics all wrong. No bodies in the midfield 2 x target men up top with no movement. Wallace playing CM just about sums it all up. #millwall
— Brad Bennett (@Brad_Bennett) September 21, 2019
@jedwallace12 fucking oozes millwall The geezer gets it. I fucking love harris but fear it's time for a change before he loses the players and fans (very few back him) Millwall fans are stubbon and will stay away when not happy. Owner wont want and empty stadium #Millwall
— Daniel M (@Dmarshen) September 21, 2019
@MillwallFC Harris shit tactics, subs too late, you've lost the plot.#Millwall
— Gerry Medcalf (@GerryMedcalf) September 21, 2019
Honestly think that for the first time the squad is better than Harris can manage. He’s outdone himself by the calibre of people he’s managed to bring in to the club. Doesn’t know who his best 11/14 is and it is costing us. #millwall

Harris thanks for the memories it’s time to go #Millwall

If Harris wasn’t a club legend like he is, he would have been sacked last season. I can’t see this getting any better. #MILQPR #Millwall

Lose against huddersfield and for me harris is on the thinnest ice #Millwall
— Daniel M (@Dmarshen) September 21, 2019
I feel like the pressure is all on Harris now. He isn't to blame for Bart's error, but for the rest of the game, it all sounds like the pressure is beginning to crank up on him. #Millwall
— Craig Jones (@Craig_J_85) September 21, 2019
Pro-Harris
There were however those who still backed Harris to get them out of this rut, as he did last season. And who's to say the man who got them promoted three years ago, led them to a top half finish two years ago, and avoided relegation last term doesn't deserve a chance to see 'his' team give the league a crack.
Too many Millwall fans loosing the plot, like this country. Hold it together and let’s just trust get behind Harris keeping us up. I know it wasn’t the result we wanted, but let’s not be too pessimistic now. 🦁#Millwall

One thing on Harris - he MIGHT have taken us as far as he can but remember he took over with the club on its knees in absolute dire, restored our pride & gave us a team to be proud off. We wouldn’t be in the championship without him. Shouldn’t be forgotten if he does go #Millwall

Would you swap Harris for this? Careful what you wish for....#millwall pic.twitter.com/qErTKvjfc5

Harris was rumoured to be going Huddersfield there were people begging him not to go.......................few weeks later the same people are shouting Harris out 😂😂 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️ All I want is a decent performance from my team 🤷🏻♀️ #onlyhappywhenmoaning #millwall

Regarding Harris...agreed his tactics are terrible. I can’t believe he told Bart to pass it to Wells, Jed to shoot 2 yards wide on a breakaway, or for his players to aim for QPR heads on set plays. Crazy.#Millwall
— Steve Hudson 🌊 (@NOLU1885) September 21, 2019
Players threw Harris under the bus there. You can moan about him all you want but once the players step over the white line, it’s up to them. You can excuse Bart’s error or the fact that they just ran past all 11 players for their first goal. That isn’t Harris’ fault #Millwall
