Here’s how we rated Charlton’s players in their defeat to Wigan.

Dillon Phillips – 6 – Wigan had 17 shot attempts but only four of them were on target. Phillips was beaten by two goals at close range but, on the whole, dealt with everything fairly well.

Deji Oshilaja – 5 – He set up a couple of decent chances but he was fortunate his errant pass did not lead to more. Dunkley completely outmuscled him for the first goal and looked a little lost for the second.

Tom Lockyer – 7 – Kieffer Moore made himself a problem with his strength and physicality but Lockyer met him every step of the way. Made crucial headers and interceptions, but also should have scored himself. Man of the match.

Naby Sarr – 6 – A decent performance from the centre back overall, though a calamitous mix-up between him and Purrington could have been a lot worse.

Ben Purrington – 6 – Wigan fans wanted a penalty after he went shoulder-to-shoulder with Antonee Robinson in the box. Did not look like a penalty.

Darren Pratley – 6 – Put himself about, throwing himself in front of the ball where possible and made some big blocks. Very fortunate to have not been sent off for that scuffle with Joe Williams. Replaced with Chuks Aneke.

Josh Cullen – 6 – Productive both on and off the ball. Similar to Pratley, he was everywhere as Charlton fended off Wigan pressure. Still, he was left on an island for the second. Unluckily denied at the end by Wigan stopper David Marshall.

Conor Gallagher – 6 – Looked like the on-loan Chelsea star found this trip quite a challenge but he stood up to it. Shots did not come off for him as Wigan were prepared for it each time.

Jonny Williams – 5 – Very little came off for him and got clattered once or twice for his troubles. Slid Bonne through late on but the substitute did not do enough with it.

Jonathan Leko – 4 – Rarely found himself in positions to score, though he did tee up Lockyer at the end for a scoring opportunity that went wide.

Tomer Hemed – 5 – Both he and Leko struggled to get good sights of goal, but Hemed made some vital contributions in his defending – particularly at one set-piece where Wigan were close to scoring. Replaced with Macauley Bonne.
