Viv Richards makes his debut as Rishton pro in 1987
This was the historic moment when West Indian cricket legend Viv Richards went into bat for the first time as Rishton professional in 1987.
Earlier in the day he had arrived in typically flamboyant style by helicopter provided by a national newspaper and proceeded to score 87 as his new team comfortably beat Haslingden in the Lancashire League.
