Many families were left without anything but the clothes on their back after a block of flats in Worcester Park went up in flames earlier this week.

But out of the tragedy, some good news stories have emerged.

Taking to Facebook to share one such moment were the fire crew from New Malden.

"You would have all heard about the devastating fire at Richmond house, Worcester Park," the post began.

"Our crews from around London have worked hard to resolve this incident that was first attended by our Red Watch.

"Fortunately it appears no one was hurt. Our thoughts go out to the residents that lost their homes."

But then the post took a different turn.

"I would particularly like to thank all the fantastic staff from New Malden Nando's," it added.

"Not only did they take up a load of food to the site to help feed the residents and firefighters all the staff donated there tips to the fund to aid the homeless residents.

"Their staff spoke to the donations centre on site, found out what they were short of then went shopping to get those items with the donations from the staff tips.

"Wow thank you guys for your community spirit."
