Police have uncovered a massive cannabis field in Kingston
Officers launched an investigation after they received a call from a local business.
On September 6, police attended Lower Marsh Lane where they discovered approximately 150 plants growing on disused private land.
Officers remained on scene and made arrangements for the plants to be removed for disposal. There have been no arrests and enquiries are continuing. The landowner is not considered a suspect in this matter.
The Met's specialist drone team, MO4, assisted in checking the entire area for any further fields and confirmed there were only three.
PC Jones, from the Met's Response Team in Kingston said: “The area on which these plants have been found is difficult to access and whoever is behind this has gone to considerable effort to hide this operation.
“We are pleased that such a large drug haul has been taken off the streets and we are now working hard to establish who is responsible for this and bring them to justice."
