Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was stabbed in the neck with broken glass in East Croydon early on Saturday.

At around 11.30am a fight broke out in the station between the victim, a man in his 30s, and the suspect, spilling out into the taxi rank on Billington Hill.

The victim was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. He has since been discharged.

British Transport Police say the suspect came back into East Croydon station and boarded a train with a woman who had dark hair, wearing a white an black striped top and dark bottoms.

Officers are appealing for the woman to come forward and help their investigation as it is believed she witnessed the incident.

They also believe the man in the CCTV images may have information which could help their investigation.
