SPEAK to any Warrington Wolves fan and one of the highlights of the 2009 Challenge Cup Final weekend was the homecoming parade.

Tens of thousands of people took to the streets the day after the final win over Huddersfield Giants to welcome home the Wire’s first cup winners in 35 years.

An enormous crowd gathered on Bank Park before a reception was held in the Town Hall.

A homecoming parade will take place as well this year.

It will be held on bank holiday Monday and is due to leave Woolston at around 12.35pm.

The bus will travel along Manchester Road and then turn at Sainsburys, travel past the Ring o’Bells and on to Mersey Street and into the town centre.

The bus will then head on to the Town Hall with an expected arrival at around 1.45pm.

A rolling roadblock will be put in place to accomodate the bus and as soon as the bus has travelled by a road it will then re-open.

Fans are welcome to take a look at the bus at any point along the journey.
