A man was stabbed in Norbiton on Monday evening (August 12), prompting the Metropolitan Police to launch an information appeal Tuesday.

A spokesperson for the Met said that they were called just before 11pm on Monday night to reports of a fight between "five males" on Park Road in Norbiton.

One man was reportedly stabbed and was treated for his injuries at Kingston Hospital, police said.

"Detectives are appealing for witnesses and information following a stabbing in Norbiton.

"Police were called at 22:59hrs on Monday, 12 August to reports of five males fighting in Park Road.

"An injured male subsequently made his own way to Kingston Hospital where he has since been discharged.

"At this early stage detectives believe the victim may have been the victim of a robbery.

"The suspects made off from the scene shortly afterwards," the Met Police spokesperson said.

They added details of the investigation, urging anyone who might have information to get in touch with the South West Borough Command Unit (SW BCU) team assigned to investigate:

"Detectives from the South West BCU CID team are investigating.

"No arrests have been made and enquiries continue.

"Anyone who witnessed the stabbing or has any information is asked to contact detectives at SW CID on 101 quoting reference CAD 8499/12AUG

"Alternatively, you can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."

Kingston Hospital were contacted for comment.
