More than fifty per cent of residents living in the Richmond Borough have said that they have been drastically affected by closer of Hammersmith Bridge.

During June and July, the council held a consultation by speaking to over 2,000 locals and the results of those conversations have now been passed to both Hammersmith & Fulham Council (LBHF) and Transport for London (TfL).

“Whilst this was an informal consultation, it has given us a clear understanding on the experiences of residents and businesses.

“We will continue working with both organisations and will feedback when we have clarity on their plans for the bridge’s future.”

Richmond council carried out a survey to find out how the bridge closures were affecting the lives of people whose commute involved Hammersmith Bridge.

Around 2,707 Richmond residents and businesses shared views on areas such as traffic congestion, air quality, parking, accessibility, public transport and the future of Hammersmith Bridge.

The feedback has now been evaluated and placed in a report that has been passed onto Hammersmith and Fulham Council and TfL.
