Millwall have signed Wycombe Wanderer defender Jason McCarthy for an undisclosed fee.
Neil Harris has been keen to bolster his defensive options after James Brown suffered a long term injury during preseason.
McCarthy, who is centre-back by trade, won Player of the Year as a right-back last season at Wycombe.
The 23-year old started his career at Southampton and had loan spells at Wycombe and Walsall respectively before moving to Barnsley on a permanent deal.
He went on to make 23 Championship appearances for Barnsley before moving back to Wycombe in 2018 on a three year deal.
"I first heard of interest from Millwall a couple of years back, and it resurfaced this summer,” he told club’s official website.
“I've always had my eye on this club as one which really suits me, both as a person and as a player. I'm a hard-working player, and I know that the club's core value is all on that. I can't wait to get down to business, and show the fans and teammates what I'm about. Millwall is an iconic club, and I can't wait to get started."
The deal also brings closure to Fred Onyedinma’s situation at Millwall, as he has joined Wycombe Wanderers on a permanent basis.
