A 54-year-old man has been arrested after the murder of a woman in Beckenham.

Diane Dyer, 61, was found dead on Thursday night, July 18, at a home in Oakwood Avenue after emergency services were called just after 11pm.

She is understood to have died because of blunt force trauma to the head and face, as confirmed from a post mortem examination.

Last week, Detective Chief Inspector Mark Cranwell, said: "This is a tragic incident and we are supporting Diane’s family at this difficult time.

"I would like to reassure the community that this is thought to be an isolated incident and we believe Diane knew her attacker."
