Lisa Messham, principal of North Wales School of Dancing, said: "This is an absolutely amazing achievement and we are so very proud of them all, not only that our girls were chosen again to represent their country following dance world cup success in Spain last year, but their hard work and talent has brought home world cup medals to our community in North Wales.

"The dance world cup is getting tougher every year, this year the girls faced competition from over 20,000 dancers in 62 Countries around the world at the National heats just to get selected, and competed against 7000 other finalists in Braga with many of their categories having over 30 teams or competitors per section.

"To get silver and bronze medals along with most of our other team dances coming in the top 10 in the world is a huge achievement for our dance school.

"It’s been a massive honour going to have represented our community and country again, and we are absolutely over the moon that NWSD can now proudly say that our dance school has world level standards and the medals to prove it."

During the competition, dancers competed in a range of events including large and small groups, solos, duets and trios.

Chloe Parry was selected as captain for Team Wales and carried the Welsh Flag at the opening ceremony.
