A Strictly Come Dancing star will appear at an open garden party being held at a Walton retirement home tomorrow (July 18).

Debbie McGee will join residents and attendees at Edward Place Retirement Home in Walton on Thursday for an afternoon of "cocktails and jazz" at the development's summer garden party from 2pm.

Ms McGee, 60, is the former co-star and wife of late magician Paul Daniels.

The ex-ballerina wowed audiences of the massively popular BBC One show when she made it into the four-person final of the 2017 edition of the dancing competition.

Julie Ward, National Sales Director for McCarthy and Stone, who manage Edward Place said the staff were "delighted" that the Strictly star had decided to join them for the event.

"We are looking forward to opening up our gardens at Edward Place to the people of Walton on Thames on Thursday July 18 for what promises to be a fantastic afternoon of cocktails and live jazz music – and we are delighted Debbie McGee will be joining us for this wonderful event.

"We do hope many people will come along and experience the fabulous lifestyle on offer here at Edward Place; and we are looking forward to showcasing the fun and engaging social activities we regularly organise for homeowners."

Visitors to the event will get the chance to tour the show complex and take a closer look at Edward Place.

They'll also have an opportunity to meet Ms McGee, plus the McCarthy and Stone team, and chat with retirees who are already living at the development.
