Emergency services were called to Hampton Court Bridge earlier today following a serious collision involving a lorry and a car.

The bridge was partially closed as of 1.10pm eastbound at Hampton Court Road due to the road being blocked, with traffic queues and delays expected near the A309 of Hampton Court to The Bell Inn.

Fire and Ambulance services were at the scene attending to a black SUV type vehicle thought to have been involved in the crash.

A man in his 50s and a woman in her 40s have both been taken to hospital.

A Met Police spokeswoman said: "Police were called at 10.08am on Monday, 15 July, to reports of a collision between a car and a lorry on Hampton Court Way, KT8.

"Officers attended alongside the London Ambulance Service.

"The drivers of both vehicles – a man in his 50s and a woman believed to be in her 40s – were taken to hospital.

"Their injuries are not life changing or life threatening."

It was also confirmed no arrests have been made.
