Sutton residents are being given the final say on plans to improve parking in the borough, as the Council launches the last stage of its consultation.

The proposals cover seven permit parking areas: three near St Helier Hospital , two near Hackbridge station, one near Carshalton station and one in Sutton North.

The public have until Thursday, July 25 to respond to the proposals, which the council says will “address areas of acute parking pressures.”

Environment and Neighbourhood Chair Councillor Manuel Abellan said:

“This is the final stage of the consultation for this part of Geographical Area 1.

“Residents have 21 days to respond to the proposals, with the consultation closing on Thursday July 25.

“The council will consider and determine all representations received before deciding whether to proceed with the schemes as advertised, modify it or abandon the proposals.”

• Permit parking areas (PPAs) - various times.

• Yellow lines at some junctions for safety purposes.

In a PPA, all streets are subject to parking controls and vehicles may park only when displaying a valid permit for that PPA.

There are no marked bays in a PPA, with the exception of disabled bays, loading bays and time limited free bays.
