Latchmere Road is still closed following a fatal stabbing yesterday afternoon.
Officers were called at 2.45pm to reports of a fight outside a Battersea pub.
Officers and London Ambulance Service attended and found a 40-year-old man suffering from stab injuries.
He was taken to hospital, where he died of his injuries at 7.40pm.
Latchmere Road is closed in both directions from Battersea Park Road to Sheepcote Lane.
A murder investigation has now been launched and work is underway to establish the full circumstances and there have so far been no arrests.
