An elderly man was targeted by teenagers in a knifepoint robbery in Walton, police have said.

Surrey Police issued an appeal for witnesses after confirming the incident, which took place on Colby Road in Walton on Sunday, June 9.

Describing the frightening course of events in detail, police said that a 75-year-old man was walking along Colby Road in Walton at around 8pm when he was approached by a group of teenagers, believed to be four males and one female.

On approaching the elderly man, the group demanded he hand over his watch.

When he refused, one of the suspects reportedly drew a knife out, at which point he gave them the watch, which police said was highly valuable.

"The stolen watch pictured is a limited edition and valued at just under £3,000.

"If you have been offered this watch or have any further information, we are urging you to get in touch.

"We are also appealing for witnesses to come forward with any information.

"If you were near the High Street in Walton on Thames on this day and saw anything suspicious, please contact us on 101, quoting incident reference PR/45190061099," a spokesperson for Surrey Police said in their information appeal.

The suspects are described as black or mixed race and between the ages of 15 and 18.
