A flood warning as been issued to Croydon and Sutton after another day of rainfall.
Forecasters at the Met Office say there is a possibility of flooding around the River Wandle in the Bishopsford Road Bridge and London Road areas.
Although less rain has fallen today than expected, the risk of "isolated showers" remains this afternoon.
There are concerns with "ongoing structural issues" with the Bishopsford Road bridge, which could be further damaged by increased river levels.
A spokesperson for the Met Office said: "A Flood Warning may be required if the situation worsens.
"We are monitoring the situation and are working with Merton Council.
"Please stay safe, and remain aware of the situation locally and any further messages we issue. This message will be updated by 8:00pm this evening 19/06/2019, or as the situation changes."
