A 17-year-old boy from Merton has been charged with murder after a fatal stabbing in Wandsworth.

The boy cannot be named for legal reasons, but has been charged along with one other man.

Police were called at 4.42pm on June 14 following reports of a stabbing.

Officers and London Ambulance Service attended and found a male, believed to be aged in his late teens in a critical condition.

He died at the scene a short while later.

Formal identification awaits. Police are in the process of informing the victim’s next of kin.

The Homicide and Major Crime Command will be leading on this investigation in close partnership with police in Wandsworth.

Local residents can expect an enhanced police presence in the area.
