People have been evacuated from their homes and left without running water after a bridge collapsed in Mitcham.

In a message posted to its website, Thames Water said its engineers confirmed that the network has been damaged due to the construction works on the bridge at the junction of Bishopsford Road and London Road near Riverside Drive.
