A 14-year-old boy needed hospital treatment after being stabbed in "broad daylight."
Officers found the injured youngster after police were called to Gloucester Road in Croydon at 5.25pm on Wednesday.
The teenager was taken by ambulance to a south London hospital, where his injuries have since been confirmed as non-life threatening.
No arrests have been made and detectives have appealed for witnesses to come forward.
Scotland Yard said: "Detectives would like to speak with anyone who witnessed the stabbing which took place in broad daylight not far from Selhurst Railway Station.
"Did you see someone running away?"
