Moore than 500 children with additional needs from schools across Sutton are set to be treated to a trip to the circus later this month.

Zippo’s Circus is putting on an “extra special show” for them when they come to Beddington Park on May 22, during the Bank Holiday weekend.

It forms part of their nationwide tour – the Magnificent Top Hat – which celebrates 21 years since Ringmaster Norman Barrett MBE first appeared at Zippo’s Circus.

He’ll be presenting the show with acrobats, aerialists, contortionists, comedians and daredevil motorcyclists in a “magnificent production”.

The Brazilian Lucius Team of five motorcyclists, in the Globe of Death, will take centre spot while showman Paulo dos Santos returns “by popular demand”.

The 3ft 6in tall acrobat and martial artist will also be joined by a troupe of artists from all over – including foot jugglers, Kenyan tumblers, Cuban springboard acrobats and more.

Zippo’s show for the school pupils with additional needs was organised by Sutton police through the Beddington North safer neighbourhood team (SNT).

It’s expected the children will be welcomed by police officers in full uniform and red clown noses.

Zippo’s Circus will be in Beddington Park, Croydon Road (SM6 7NP), for performances across the Bank Holiday weekend from May 23 to 28.

Tickets for the two-hour show, with an interval, start from £7.50 for children and £9 for adults (15 years old and over).

Children under two go free if they don’t occupy a seat.

Zippo’s recommends booking in advance, which can be done at www.zippos.co.uk.

You can also call Dial-a-Seat on 0871 210 2100. Calls cost 13p per minute plus your phone company’s access charge.
