A video by pupils and staff at a Teddington primary school celebrating its latest Ofsted results has been viewed thousands of times.

Stanley Primary School pupils gathered together to create the video, dubbed as a “mini YouTube sensation”, called Stanley Is Good.

The school recently received high praise from Ofsted inspectors for its quality of teaching, leadership, early years provision and overall effectiveness.

To celebrate, a song was recorded in the school classrooms, playground and staffroom, featuring pupils from pre-schoolers right through to Year 6, including children from the Peartree Centre which is a specialist unit for children on the autistic spectrum.

Head teacher Ian Dickson said: “We are delighted that our hard work over the past two years has been recognised by Ofsted. Staff have worked really hard and I am pleased that this has been recognised by the inspectors.

“The moment we were told the outcome of the Ofsted inspection was ‘good’ we knew the song we needed to write. In the spirit of our inclusive ethos it involved children and staff from all parts of the school.

“I’m delighted that the Ofsted team have recognised the real strengths of Stanley School. The report is a real credit to all the staff, children and parent community who work together to provide such a successful and caring environment for the children.

“We know that there are still some improvements to be made, however we now look forward to building upon the strong foundation noted by Ofsted and, in doing so, ensure that our school continues to go from strength to strength in the future.”

The Teddington primary school was previously considered as ‘requiring improvement’ in 2017. However, in an inspection carried out earlier this year, the school received a new, improved ‘Good’ grade.

Staff at the school were congratulated for their commitment in providing pupils with a balance of good care and guidance, along with academic challenge across a range of subjects.
