The streets of Dartford were a jovial sight to behold as local schools led the celebrations for yesterday's St. Georges's Day parade.
Organised by the Kent Equality Cohesion Council in conjunction with the council, approximately 550 kids took part in the festivities as hundreds of spectators lined the streets to catch a glimpse of St. George himself, portrayed by eager resident Russell Palmer.
The High Street was abuzz with activity following energetic performances from the West Hill Morris group, Premier Brass Band, DDFK Brass Band, Big Fish, the Folkin Fusion Drumming Collective as well as St George themed stilt walkers.

Speaking on the wonderful success of the group's event, organiser Gurvinder Sandher said: "Given the challenging climate we find ourselves in recently, it is so heartening to see that the communities of the borough regardless of their ethnic, religious or social background continue to come out and support such a wonderful celebration.
"I truly believe that the spirit of the communities is reflected in events such as St George’s Day where we prefer to celebrate what brings us together rather than what divides us.
"We should take away a message of unity and strength from today’s event."
The nine schools taking part were Dartford Bridge, Our Lady of Hartley, Our Lady, Holy Trinity, Temple Hill, Westgate, Oakfield, The Brent and West Hill.
