Coulsdon South station is to become step-free sooner than expected.
Network Rail is installing lifts and a new footbridge for the first time, making the station easier to use for passengers with mobility issues, older people and parents with young children.
The improvement work will take place at the station from the May 28, and is due to be completed by early 2020.
It will also involve installing new passenger lifts to provide step free access to both platforms at Coulsdon South station.
Network Rail will hold a drop-in session on the May 1 from 4pm to 7pm at Coulsdon South station ticket hall, where representatives will be available to discuss the plans with residents.
