Police are investigating after a woman was thrown off the tube and punched at Clapham South underground station.

British Transport Police say the man is reported to have grabbed her as she attempted to board the train, before pushing her out of the carriage and hitting her in the face.

The incident happened on platform one at around 8.30am on March 18.

The force launched an appeal today (April 16), and said: “The man is described as black, 5ft 9, 40 years old, with a stocky build and a shaven head.

“He was wearing a blue padded jacket with a fleece collar, dark trousers and was carrying a rucksack and a newspaper.

“It is believed the suspect boarded the train at either Tooting Bec or Balham stations.”
