Three teenagers have been released under investigation after a 14-year-old boy was threatened and had his mobile phone stolen during a robbery in Epsom.

Officers from Surrey Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward following the incident on April 7.

The three teenagers approached him in a small alleyway in Oaks Square, between Blacks Burgers and Gummersalls Solicitors, on Waterloo Road at 7pm.

It was then that they threatened him and took his mobile phone before the victim’s friend “ran for help”, approaching a nearby police officer for assistance.

After fleeing from police the three suspects got on a train before they were arrested in Sutton and subsequently released under investigation, the force said.
