Lee Bowyer delivered some good news surrounding his contract negotiations.

The Charlton manager’s future has been a topic of conversation and worry amongst Addicks fans with his deal up at the end of the season.

Bowyer however has revealed there has been ‘positive discussions’ with Lieven de Turck, owner Roland Duchatelet’s club negotiator, on Thursday morning.

“I’ve just spoken to Lieven as I walked in this morning,” he said.

“We had a quick five-minute meeting, he asked what I thought of the offer.

“They know what I expect, so I’m sure we’ll get there, it may take a bit of time, its taken this long so a couple more weeks won’t hurt.

“It was a good positive conversation and he said he wants myself and the staff to stay, and I said - 'likewise,' so it was a positive conversation.

'I love the Club'

“For me, I just want to concentrate on what we are doing here, it so much more important than my contract.

“We want to keep on winning games and see where we are at the end of season, whether it’s promotion or playoffs, the contract will sort itself out.

“Promotion is more important, everyone knows I love the club, when it gets sorted I don’t know, but my focus is winning games.”
