Popular homeware retailer Wilko is set to open its doors in the Putney Exchange Shopping Centre next Wednesday, April 17.

To mark the special occasion, Caroline Western Goodman, a representative from Teenage Cancer Trust, will lead a ceremonial ribbon cutting on behalf of the wilko Charity Partnership, along with wilko Head of Retail, Craig McGregor and wilko Putney Branch Manager, Lauren Hewitt.

The doors will open at 9am and the first 100 customers will receive goodie bags containing wilko seeds, a watering can, chocolate and a spring/summer brochure.

Wilko Putney Manager, Lauren Hewitt said: “The team is busy preparing the final touches to the store ahead of the official opening on 17 April at 9am.

“We currently have stores in Kensington, Wimbledon and Hammersmith and we are very excited to welcome customers to our new store in Putney. We know shoppers will be impressed by the quality and value we have to offer, and it is the perfect time to come and browse our spring collections.

“We’ve got lots of exciting things planned for the launch day including goody bags for the first 100 customers through the door, so we hope everyone can come and join us to celebrate wilko’s new home at The Exchange Shopping Centre”.

Founded in 1930 as Wilkinson Stores by J K Wilkinson, wilko is one of the UK’s largest and best-loved retailers.
