A man has been rescued from a third-storey flat after a fire broke out earlier this morning.
Four fire engines and about 25 firefighters were called to Fayland Avenue near Furzedown at 9.16am.
About half of a third floor flat was damaged by fire.
A man was rescued from the affected flat's bedroom via ladder as the staircase was smoke-logged.
He was assessed on the scene by London Ambulance Service crews.
The fire was under control at 10.40am.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
